The rise of audio and the immersive opportunity that is 8D Audio [featuring Billie Eilish's ilomilo]

Audio is on the rise and rise, and a great opportunity for employer marketers. 

The Rise of Digital Audio Advertising Report 2019 found that digital audio reaches 28.3 million adults a week (+14% year-on-year). People spend 2.9 hours per week listening to digital audio, adding up to a total of 365 million hours per week for the whole of the UK.

Audio gives you that immersive, uninterrupted experience you don't get with other formats. Sound really has a way of drawing you in.

That's why I had to share some audio that's been doing the rounds on WhatsApp recently. It's a remix of Billie Eilish's ilomilo but recorded in what is being termed 8D audio (360 audio that really feels like the music surrounds you). It's not a new technology but the global pandemic is only increasing people's craving for music and worthy distractions.
